Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy
The Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy
The Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy (SOM) are an international order of Catholic religious women. We completely consecrate our lives to the love and glory of God. Our lives are dedicated to the Works of Mercy through a vow of Hospitality. Our life is animated by the spirit of charity, especially for those who are sick, suffering or in need.
Our Sisters minister to the poor, the ill, and the suffering. We provide care to the disenfranchised, neglected and abused, to anyone in need of God’s love and mercy through acts of service and evangelization. We have established and operate nearly 70 missions in 13 countries. Through the dedication of our approximately 400 Sisters who represent 11 various nationalities, we continue to expand our mission locations to help meet the needs of God’s people.
In the United States, our sisters are in New Jersey, South Carolina, and Louisiana. We minister to the disabled and elderly at Villa Raffaella Assisted Living Community in Pleasantville, NJ, and at Carter House in South Carolina. In Louisiana we operate Mother of Mercy Retreat as well as working with child victims of human trafficking through Metanoia Manor.
